During one of his trips, trucker Milton Rodrigues, a resident of Santa Helena de Goiás-GO, Brazil, came across an unusual scene. A maned wolf crossed the road in front of his truck. Rodrigues stopped and thought he might take a photo, but instead, the animal came toward him and collapsed under his truck!
The rare canid was likely trying to escape the heat (which was approximately 40°C/104°F) and was weak and dehydrated from the intense sun. That’s when Rodrigues decided to help the animal and gave him water. It’s clear the maned wolf is extremely grateful, as he laps up the water offered to him.
Fortunately, the water seems to do the trick and the wolf gets upon and stands on his feet, and is able to run back into the forest.
