Bruce Willis Has Aphasia And is ‘Stepping Away’ From Acting

Demi Moore, Bruce Willis’ ex-wife, announced on Wednesday that the prolific action star had been diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects the language center of the brain and the ability to understand or express speech.

To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.

We are moving through this as a strong family unit and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up,’ and together we plan to do just that.

Willis’ wife and children are mentioned in the post’s signature: “Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel & Evelyn.” Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah have a mother in Moore, while Mabel and Evelyn have a mother in Heming Willis.

Another photo showed Willis in his bathrobe, sunglasses, gold cross-chain, and a towel around his head, all while smirking.

Representatives for Willis did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

67-year-old actor Bruce Willis is best known for his role as New York City cop John McClane in the Die Hard film series from 1988 to 2013, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

“Pulp Fiction,” “The Sixth Sense,” and “Moonrise Kingdom” are just a few of the critically acclaimed films in which he has appeared (2012).

However, he has received far more recognition for his work on television than he has for his roles in films. He received three Golden Globe nominations, winning one, and two lead actor Emmy nominations, winning one, for his role as private detective David Addison (played by Cybill Shepherd) in “Moonlighting,” an ABC comedy-drama-romance that ran from 1985 to 1989. In 2000, he was nominated for a comedy Emmy for his performance on the NBC sitcom “Friends” as Paul Stevens, the father of Ross Geller’s much younger girlfriend.

There have been numerous B-movie action productions since 2015, including “Breach” (2020) and “Fortress” (2021). Willis has nearly ten movies in post-production, according to his IMDb page.
