Woman Is Forced To Shave Her Head Because Of Tampered Conditioner

A woman has claimed her daughter’s conditioner she purchased was tampered within the store by removal cream — and it has left the girl bald after seriously damaging her hair.

Taffy Jo Timm, 44, shared a warning post on Facebook Sunday about a Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume shampoo and conditioner set her daughter purchased at a Walmart in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

‘Attention new Richmond Walmart shoppers be aware of shampoo and conditioner you buy there as my daughter Ashley Rose bought some 2 days ago and someone mixed Nair in her conditioner bottle,’ the distressed mother wrote.

Big change: Ashley’s uncle shaved her head on Monday after it revealed her hair was too damaged from the tampered conditioner

She then detailed how the tampered product causes chunks of her daughter’s hair to fall out after she washed it the first time.

‘As I speak she is losing hair and crying,’ the post continued.

The mom then detailed to followers how they will notice if the product was tampered based on the color of the shampoo and conditioner.

‘This conditioner is supposed to be white [and] is an ugly pink color,’ she wrote.

The family has reportedly informed the police about the tampered product at the Walmart near their home.

‘The police are gonna be watching camera footage along with the detectives,’ the warning post ended.

It was shared more than 70,000 times on Facebook alone with people reacting to the tampered product.

This inspired the family to create a GoFundMe page for Ashley to fix the damage left on her scalp after using the conditioner.

Spreading the news: Ashley’s mom shared her story online to implore shoppers to stay vigilant when purchasing products at the store

After her hair started to follow out, Ashley visited the hospital for them to check the irritated and red bald patches on her head. She also visited a hair salon to inquire about purchasing extensions to cover the spots.

Damaged product: The product Ashley purchased was Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Conditioner

But the salon informed her that her hair and scalp was too damaged for extensions to work.

‘Ashley’s hair is still shedding and her scalp is still irritated,’ the GoFundMe post explained.

‘She has come to the heartbreaking realization that her only option at this point is to shave her head. Hair is such a part of our personal identity and having to lose all of it without expectation or choice is an incredibly traumatic experience.’

Ashley’s uncle later shaved her head following the news from the hair salon that her locks could not be saved.

The money raised from the GoFundMe page would go towards purchasing wigs for Ashley and covering any medical expenses from using the tampered conditioner.

The family also implored others to use the post as a warning when purchasing products. They hoped the story would inspire shoppers to be more vigilant.

‘Check your bottles wherever you get them, nothing can be trusted anymore,’ Ashley wrote online.
