The latest Halloween sequel ranked in a whopping $77.5 million for its opening weekend in box office sales.
And viewers say the slasher film has taken fright to a whole new level as some claim they can’t sleep for days after watching the scary movie.
Flooding Twitter with their reviews, loyal fans praised ‘scream queen’ Jamie Lee Curtis’ performance in the film, 40 years since her debut in Halloween’s original edition.
‘Won’t sleep for days but @halloweenmovie was…incredibly satisfying. @jamieleecurtis and John Carpenter, just…well done. Well f*****g done’, one fan wrote.
‘Just got home from the movie. May never sleep again’, another viewer echoed after watching the blockbuster hit.
A third penned: ‘Honestly probably never going to sleep again after seeing the new Halloween movie.’
Other viewers claim the film has just the right level of scare factor: ‘The new Halloween movie was great! Love Judy Greer & Jamie Lee Curtis was amazing. Would definitely recommend – perfectly scary and gore-y.’

‘Went last night to see the #HalloweenMovie So good and scary! Always loved the music too!’
It has been 40 years since Jamie, 59, made her movie debut in the original Halloween film, which is available to watch on NOW TV, and she’s reprised her role as Laurie Strode in Halloween (1978) Halloween II (1981), Halloween H20 (1998), Halloween: Resurrection (2002) and now the latest installment.
In the film, the screen star is now a reclusive grandmother, semi-estranged from her daughter (Judy Greer) and desperate to set in motion a plan that she has spent 40 years refining — to kill the dreaded Michael Myers.
She yearns for him to escape from his high-security psychiatric hospital. And one foggy night, while being transferred from one compound to another with a group of his fellow inmates, he obliges.
Halloween has already proven to be quite the success, with the Freaky Friday actress celebrating its release on Instagram.
‘Biggest horror movie opening with a female lead. Biggest movie opening with a female lead over 55. Second biggest horror movie opening ever. Second biggest October movie opening ever. Biggest Halloween opening ever,’ she boasted.
‘Couldn’t be prouder of ALL who made this creative experiment have such a thrilling result!’‘
